Amazon Tablet deficiencies no concern, look at Kindle

When you look at the current tablet market you do not have to be an expert in the field to know that the iPad 2 is dominating it. To some this is very confusing, as Apple has not given their device the best hardware, and this is something that the upcoming Amazon tablet will have in common with it. Now you may wonder why they would do such a thing, as the iPad is considered to offer the complete package, but so can Amazon — just look at the Kindle.

The eReader is not packed with the best hardware, as the Nook Color and other rivals prove this. However, Amazon has done to the eReader market what Apple has done to the tablet market. So we know that it is more than just hardware, and we believe that Amazon has the tools in place to give the iPad 2 a run for its money. OK, we do not want to get ahead of ourselves here, the upcoming device, which is expected in October will not suddenly topple the iPad 2. However, this could happen in time, as there are suggestions that Amazon is to make its very own tablet.

Now you may be a little confused with this admission, but they will not make the upcoming tablet in October, but there are reports that suggest that they will with next year’s versio. We cannot wait to see if Amazon can do what the likes of Motorola and Samsung has not been able to do, and that is give Apple a run for their money.

eWeek has been looking into this very subject, and have listed in detail why they think Amazon finally has a tablet that can compete with the iPad. The first thing that they point out is the Amazon brand, as it carries a lot of weight. They are right, as they are not just a trusted retailer, but also have great experience when it comes to offering digital content — something that is so important with a tablet device.

Most reports suggest that Amazon will follow Steve Jobs stance and go with a 9 to 10-inch screen, any smaller is seen as pointless. We cannot say for certain which version of Android will be running the Amazon tablet, if they want any chance of success then it will need to be Ice Cream Sandwich. The reason for this is because it will be able to offer greater app support — this is considered most important if they stand any chance of competing fairly with the iPad.

We could go on about so many reasons why Amazon will have the best Android tablet, but the key is price. It is a certainty that Amazon will offer their tablet at a cheaper price than not only the iPad 2, but most of Android tablets with a similar screen size.

If we are to believe the rumors then we have just three months to wait to see how well the Amazon tablet will perform against the iPad 2. However, Apple might have something to say about that, as there is talk of an iPad 2 HD or Plus version coming towards the end of the year as well.
