Amazon Kindle: The New York Times subscription grants free internet

If you’re one of the many owners of Amazon’s popular e-reader, the Kindle you are going to love the news we have for you today. The company has just announced that a subscription to the New York Times will grant you free internet access.

The access allows you to visit the usually paywall-protected NYT online portal where you can browse all the journalism from Times Towers at no extra charge. There is no date for when the access to subscribers can be obtained as of yet however.

The news comes from an article by Vlad Savov at Engadget which explains that there are no complicated conditions or terms you will simply be granted the access as a NYT Kindle subscriber. This version provides thoughtful opinion as well as great depth of news coverage.

It contains the same articles found in the printed edition except it may not include some of the tables and images. Also features like crosswords are not included in the Kindle edition of the NYT. The basic subscription fee is $20 in the U.S.

More details can be found at Amazon or you can click the link above where you will find a full press release. What do you think of the offer? Let us know in the comments below.
