After a strong, negative, and angry community reaction to the e-book “The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover’s Code of Conduct” that was on sale in the Amazon Kindle store, the Seattle based company have finally decided to pull the Philip R. Greaves II publication.
Yesterday, we released an article that showed huge public outrage towards the self-published e-book, with bad-tempered tweet’s on Twitter and even a Facebook page that’s goal was to encourage the boycott of Amazon.
Since the news spread like wildfire across the internet, Amazon at first refused to pull the book saying that it had a right to free speech and would be censorship if it did.
Since then, they have retracted that statement and removed the e-book, that cost $4.79 from the Kindle store.
The book does still appear within search results on the site, however once you click on it you are greeted with an error message.
The e-book apparently sold just one copy until news of the book sky-rocketed sales to bring it into Amazon’s Top 100 list at number #96. Obviously, this is no longer the case.
What are your views on the book? Do you think it should be allowed to be sold in the name of free-speech? Or is it fully, and flat out wrong.
