Alien Isolation Ripley playable with catch

We have some surprising news for those of you who are planning to pick up Alien Isolation. Those of you who have seen the game will know that it takes place on the original ship from the movies, the Nostromo spaceship. Now though we have confirmation the game is going to feature the original cast from the 1979 movie as well.

That includes Ripley and Sigourney Weaver is coming back to voice the famous character. Other actors from the movie are coming back too to voice their respective roles – including Tom Skerritt as Dallas, Yaphet Kotto as Parker and Harry Dean Stanton as Brett.

It sounds amazing doesn’t it? Especially when you check out one of the in-game renders of Ripley as seen in the image below. There is a catch though unfortunately, as SEGA needs you to pre-order the game in order to enjoy arguably the best content in the game.

If you pre-order the game from anywhere, you’ll get access to the “Crew Expendable” mission featuring Ripley and the crew. However, if you pre-order from a ‘specific retailer’, you will also get to play ‘Last Survivor’, which is a second mission that features Ripley all on her own which takes place during events at the very end of the Aliens film.

It sounds really promising and Alien Isolation may end up as the best movie-based Aliens game to release for a long time. We have seen on social media though that the pre-order only aspect of this content has left a sour taste in the mouths of some gamers.

Pre-ordering for the best content isn’t exactly a new practise though – most of you should be aware that it’s now standard in the industry.

Are you interested in getting the game to play as Ripley? Stay tuned to find out where you’ll be able to pre-order at certain retailers to get both missions.
