The winter weather looks like it will be affecting airports in the U.S. and UK, therefore we thought we would point you in the direction of some Android and iPhone apps which will allow you to see whether your flight has been delayed.
If you own an Android-based smartphone or device you should check out a free app called US Airport Delays, this app is updated every 5 minutes and will tell you if there are any delays at valid U.S. airports, you can download this app here, there are some others Android apps to check out here.
iPhone users should check out Flight Delays, FlightView, TravelTracker and FlightCaster, all of which should make keeping track of flight delays a lot easier. Out of all of these apps I must say that FlightCaster sounds the most interesting, it is said to predict flight delays 6 hours before airline alerts, which will obviously save hours of potentially wasted travel-time and money.
UK iPhone owner do not have as much choice, however we have come across one useful app called StreamThru, this app is free and is said to be an all-in-one travel companion which will keep you in touch with flight delays, cancellations and alternate flights on your departure day, also when you arrive at your destination you will be able to see the best places to visit.
With so many apps out there it is hard to filter the good from the bad, hopefully this post has helped you to discover a great app for your smartphone, if you would like to recommend any let us know in the comments section below.
