Acer Tablet PC: Offical Release Date and Price – OS Unknown

The Acer Tablet PC has been officially announced by the company’s CEO, offering details on price and a release date. That date will be November 23, 2010 — three days before Black Friday — the price will be $299 to $699, depending in size.

There will be three sizes, 5-, 7-, or 10-inch, although it is unknown which OS Acer will go with. However, Thomas Ricker from Engadget reports that Google Android is the best bet. If Acer did go the Google way, then we cannot be certain if the tablets will use Android 2.2 Froyo or 2.3 Gingerbread?

Acer’s new range of tablet PCs will be in direct competition with not only the Apple iPad, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab as well. You have to wonder why Acer and Samsung would launch a tablet to run on Froyo, especially when other vendors have said that the Froyo has not been built for tablets in mind.

The release of the Acer Tablet is perfect timing ahead of the holiday season, as this will give us something extra to add to our Christmas wish list. Details on Acer’s Q4 revenue can be found on WSJ.
