Acer Iconia Tab A100: UK Release Date Pushed Back

Back at the beginning of April we brought you a UK price for the much-anticipated Acer Iconia Tab A100 tablet, which at the time was believed to have been launching later that month. However, the Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet’s launch was then delayed until May.

Now it appears the UK release date has been pushed back yet again. According to a recent article by Rik Henderson over at, Acer has recently announced that the Iconia Tab A100 device has unfortunately been delayed until the later part of this year.

Although there have been a number of reports surfacing recently that have suggested that the Iconia Tab A100 device had been completely cancelled, Acer UK has stated that the launch has not been cancelled but just postponed until the second half of 2011.

Their statement is entirely different from the one that came from the Polish branch of Acer, who claimed that the A100 had definitely been discontinued. It could well be that the Acer Iconia Tab A100 is still going to be hitting stores in the United Kingdom, but just not in mainland Europe.

As we mentioned in our previous article, the Iconia Tab A100 features a 7-inch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600, a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, and both a 2 and 5-megapixel cameras. Were you waiting to buy the Acer Iconia Tab A100 Android Honeycomb tablet?
