Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-840-131U review

If you are currently looking for the cheapest tablet online but one that comes with reasonable performance, we have spotted one tablet that you may be interested in. It comes from Acer and we can bring you a Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-840-131U review to see what it’s all about.

This is another tablet in the popular ‘budget’ category, although this one comes with some much better specs that we have seen for the price, compared to similar competitors.

For instance, the Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-840-131U specs include a quad-core 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3735G processor, with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage memory.

Consumers also have the option of expanding memory up to 32GB, while there is an impressive ‘high definition’ 5MP rear camera on the back and an accompanying 2MP front camera.

It has to be said that you don’t often see a 5MP camera on a budget tablet, let alone one that can take 1080p videos – so Acer as done a good job in that regard.

Elsewhere, the 8-inch display supports a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, while there’s a 4600 mAh battery capacity offering generous battery life when browsing or watching videos.

This tablet also runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box, meaning that it could run Android 5.0 Lollipop in the future if there’s an update available – which is fantastic.

It’s a really great package for the asking price, which is $149.99 on Acer’s product listing here. However, some retailers may be offering a lower price online such as Best Buy for instance who are currently selling for $139.99.

You can check out some great feedback over at a Acer Iconia Tab 8 A1-840-131U review page here. The comments left have been very positive so far – it sounds like an absolute bargain for under $150.

Let us know your thoughts on the Acer Iconia Tab 8 16GB model. Acer are obviously not too well known for making tablets, but are you interested given the fantastic specs?
