Acer Iconia A1-830 Kitkat update promised

If you are looking for a new tablet in 2014 and an alternative to the Nexus 7 2013 or iPad Mini with Retina, one tablet that may interest you is the Acer Iconia A1-830. It features some decent hardware specs, but perhaps more importantly it will be available for a very low price on the market compared to its competitors.

If you missed this at CES 2014 in January, you’ll want to know that the Acer Iconia A1-830 US release date is currently scheduled to happen during the 1st quarter of 2014.

The Iconia A1-830 price will be a very pleasing $150 on the market, meaning that it will be significantly cheaper than many other tablets on the market, such as the Nexus 7.

Hardware specs are not quite as strong as Google’s tablet though, as Iconia A1-830 specs include a 1.6Ghz dual-core Intel Atom processor, just 1GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera and a 7.9-inch display which carries a 768 x 1024 resolution only.

What we wanted to highlight though is the fact that this tablet will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. While this is obviously not good enough for a new tablet in 2014, we now have the confirmation which you see above – confirming that an Acer Iconia A1-830 Android 4.4 Kitkat update is definitely planned sometime after launch.

Although it’s not a quad-core tablet, we have a feeling this little device will still be very popular thanks to the $150 price tag. Hardware specs are not everything and most consumers will be able to perform basic tasks just fine with the Iconia A1-830.

Are you interested in getting one of these now that Kitkat is confirmed?
