Acer Chromebook C720 features Haswell, great battery

Acer last week launched the ‘Acer C720 Chromebook’ for a starting price of €249. A product that boasts to being both lightweight, sleek, and sporting a greater battery life than its predecessor. The product seems to be primarily geared towards home use for the entire family and students who are looking for a device that will enhance their capability to study via the means of technology.

The Acer C720 Chromebook purports to be powered by an Intel Celeron 2955U processor, and has a 16GB Solid State Drive, that allows the user to boot up and resume using the product in less than 7 seconds from sleep mode. This virtually means instant working access. The processor is based upon the Haswell micro-architecture for increased performance and up to 8.5 hours of battery life.

The new slimline device claims to be 30% thinner and lighter (1.3kg) in design. This allows the user a greater flexibility in carrying the device in a backpack or in any other type of bag, and also allows for greater levels of comfort whilst using. The slimline look of the product also has an aesthetic quality that looks modern, fashionable, and will not seem out of place at the home or in a library.

The Acer C720 Chromebook has an 11.6-inch HD matte display. The matte anti-glare display is used to reduce reflection from the sun or any other light source and therefore makes the product fit to be used outside in the sunshine as well as inside the house. The anti-glare technology is a good addition to the device in this rapidly changing world, where people want to use their devices as they travel or are outside relaxing in the sunshine. This also allows students primarily, to study in a variety of environments and consequently no longer restricts them to the limited options of the home or the library.
