Acer Aspire 5755 notebook comes to UK: Price and specs

A few days ago Acer revealed a UK price and release date information for the upcoming TravelMate 8481 notebook, which as Shane McGlaun over at reports comes with a 14-inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, a USB 3.0 port, Intel HD Graphics 3000, a memory card reader and the latest Intel Core processor.

Today however we are hearing news that the company has just announced another new notebook for the UK market, only this time it’s the Acer Aspire 5755. According to a recent article by Ray Willington over on the website, the Aspire 5755 is available to purchase in four different glossy colors: black, brown, red and blue.

The Aspire 5755 is powered by a second generation Intel Core processor (a choice of a Core i3, i5 or i7) with Turbo Boost Technology, and comes with a highly responsive FineTip chiclet keyboard, a numeric keypad for convenient data input and a multi-gesture touchpad. In terms of display, the Aspire 5755 features a 15.6-inch LED-backlit screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The Acer Aspire 5755 not only comes with an HDMI port for connecting the notebook to an HDTV, it also features Intel’s Wireless Display (WiDi) technology, which enables users to stream their favorite TV shows and movies to their HDTV without the need for a cable. Consumers also have the option of adding a Blu-ray disc drive to their Aspire 5755 notebook.

It also comes with up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 1TB of storage space, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), a multi-in-1 card reader and the company’s media sharing technology. Thanks to its LED technology that uses less energy than traditional CCFL displays, the Aspire 5755 notebook yields more than 30 percent power savings.

Whether you want to watch a movie, play a game or listen to your favorite tunes, the Aspire 5755 notebook’s enhanced sound system — which includes Dolby Advanced Audio v2 — will deliver a better audio and virtualized surround sound experience. The Aspire 5755 also comes with an Acer Crystal Eye HD webcam and built in microphone for face-to-face communication.
