With Samsung now overtaking Nokia as the largest phone maker in the world, rivals will do all they can to try and take the fight to them. These 7 upcoming Motorola phones in 2011 aim to do just that, but from what we already know there is no Galaxy S II rival. Having said that, the Droid Bionic will give it a go, but does it have what it takes?
We already know what handsets Samsung and BlackBerry has up their sleeves for the rest of the year, along with what phones Sprint and Verizon will introduce, so let us see what delights Motorola has for us. There are 7 in all, with a mix of mid to high range handsets in the mix.
First up we have the Motorola Triumph, which will be heading to Virgin USA very soon. The design will be slim and will be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8655 processor. We do not have any price details, but we do know that it will come with Android Froyo 2.2.
Next we have the Motorola Photon 4G, which is basically a Droid Bionic for the Sprint network. We know that this will have much improved 4G technology when compared to the Bionic, and could even make it to market a little sooner as well.
The Motorola Wilder or EX130 will be released in Q3 2011. This will be more of your mid-range handset and will have a small 2.8-inch screen. After looking over some of the details we can see that this device is like a phone from a few years ago, and does not have any special features.
The Motorola MOTO MT620 is yet another phone with almost the same specs as the one above. We often forget that there is still a market for 2G handsets like this, but this is an area where Motorola seems to excel.
The Motorola MOTO XT882 should be with use very soon and again is another 2G phone. For those who do not want a BlackBerry, as they would rather stick with whom they know then the Motorola PRO is a great compromise. The handset made its debut during MWC 2011, and is said to be released shortly.
The final handset that we have for you is the Motorola Droid Bionic, and the phone maker hopes that it will not only take on the Samsung Galaxy S II, but also the iPhone 5 as well. We are not too sure if the phone is up to the task, we guess only time will tell.
