It’s not just TVs and laptops that prove popular in the build-up to the Holiday shopping season; tablets are probably even more so. Most of the news is taken up with reports of new tablet models that run into hundreds of dollars, but what about those living on a tight budget, or those of you that just want to buy one for their young child?
Well, Dollar General has the answer, as they currently have the 7in. Family Android tablet for just $50. However, we have word that if you are patient, then it will be reduced in price to just $32 — a saving of $18 at the end of the month, which can go towards a case, or some other accessory.
You know this is a family safe tablet because it comes with Net Nanny safe web browser installed, along with a host of pre-loaded kids apps, games and books from Disney, PBS and more.
As for those all-important main specs, you get the 7-inch HD display, a quad-core processor, 8GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB. There is also a built-in rear-facing camera of unknown pixels, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
It is clear this is not going to perform too well, but this model is not in it for a speed contest, but rather just as a tool for the young ones in the family.
