64-bit chips coming to Android says Intel

Intel look set to unveil a new 64-bit chip for the Android named the Intel Bay Trail, which will certainly improve Android devices. The announcement comes hot on the heels of Apple’s 64-bit A7 chip which seems to be the standard bearer of mobile technology. Indeed, Samsung have even announced that the new Galaxy S5 will most likely be boosted with a 64-bit processor. This in actuality means that the Intel Bay Trail will have double the bits and double the memory on the devices that incorporate the Intel technology.

According to Intel CEO, Brian Krzanich, the new Bay Trail 64-bit chips will be released accompanying Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 devices in early 2014. The interesting point that the CEO of Intel has released to the public concerning the Bay Trail is that these chips are already 64-bit processing capable. Thus, any device with the chip can be upgraded with a minor software update.

Though the upgraded chip may not improve your device visually, it is important to remember that the 64 bit chips will lead to greater processing capability of your device. Moreover, the 64-bit chips will exceed the limit of the 32-bit chips that are currently limited to a mere 4GB of RAM. This means that the advanced technology is moving towards supporting Ultra High Definition video and an improvement in graphics concerning gaming. This is all rather exciting.

So what do you think of Intel’s Bay Trail 64-bit chip? Are you looking forward to the advances in memory and processing capability that these chips will provide? Do you think this will revolutionize Android devices with the emergence of Ultra High Definition video streaming?
