4G Networks and Smartphones: U.S. vs UK

At the moment it seems as if the U.S. are set to win the 4G network race, it appears as if over the coming months some U.S. carriers will roll out their 4G networks and start offering 4G complaint smartphones.

A recent article posted on BroadbandExpert talks about 4G networks being offered in both the U.S. and the UK, out of all carriers from both countries it appears as if the U.S. carrier Sprint will be the first to offer a ‘fully-fledged’ 4G service.

From what Sprint say they should be offering their first 4G complaint handset ‘over the next few months’, as for a UK 4G network nothing is set in stone, however sources suggest that we may well see a 4G network in the UK live late this year or early 2011.
