Following on from last months Evenflo car seat recall, we are now hearing about 23,000 Britax car seats being recalled after a possible laceration hazard, which can happen if the harness chest clip breaks. This is a voluntary recall by Britax Child Safety, and affects Chaperone Infant car seats.
The model list includes E9L69N9 (Moonstone), E9L95P5 (Cowmooflage), E9L95P3, and E9L95P2 (Red Mill). The image below shows you where to find model details, and cpsc.gov is telling consumers to “immediately” stop using the affected products.
Britax was informed of injuries after the chest clip broke, CPSC said there were three reports that included scratches to a finger and arms, plus some minor lacerations. If you look at the underside of your car seat you should find the manufacture date, model number, and serial number.
The model numbers of Britax car seats involved in this recall were sold between June 2009 and October 2010. They were made in China. You can get a free repair kit from Britax, please visit this article for more details.
