Sony’s shares are dropping due to Fortnite Switch crisis

Sony are becoming under increased pressure due to the ongoing situation involving Fortnite on Switch and existing Epic Game accounts being blocked if you had previously played Fortnite on the PS4.

We reported on this earlier this week and now it has been revealed that Sony shares have dropped 2 percent as a result of the backlash, according to CNBC.

Social media is continuing to ignite over the issue and even more so with gamers unhappy with Sony’s only comment on the situation at the moment.

When speaking to the BBC, a spokesperson for Sony said the following:

“We’re always open to hearing what the PlayStation community is interested in to enhance their gaming experience. “With… more than 80 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network, we’ve built a huge community of gamers who can play together on Fortnite and all online titles”.

Sony finished by saying that “We have nothing further to add beyond this at this point”, which has left a sour taste in the mouths of many – just take a look on Twitter to see for yourself.

This clearly needs to be addressed properly by Sony as we can see some gamers are threatening to cancel pre-orders of upcoming PS4 games and some even are willing to take the drastic step of switching over to Xbox.

Do you agree that Sony has made a mistake here and needs to make amends before it gets out of hand?
