Surprise PS5 news with backwards compatibility hope

Some surprising PS5 news is doing the rounds this week, with rumors suggesting that PS5 dev kits are already in circulation and in the hands of developers as we speak.

This is according to Marcus Sellars, the same person who recently went on record to say that Black Ops 4 is the next Call of Duty game and who has been accurate in the past on other gaming predictions.

This latest Tweet suggests that the PS5 dev kits went out earlier this year, specifically to third party developers which could imply that first party developers already have them too.

It’s hard to believe that we could be seeing a PS5 announcement this year with so much focus still on the PS4 Pro, but we’ll be pleasantly surprised if it does happen.

Early PS5 rumors include the console being fully backwards compatible with PS4 games and that it won’t be significantly more powerful than PS4 Pro but still offer a boost compared to what is currently available on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Are you ready for the PS5 so soon, or do you think it is too early having only just bought a PS4 Pro?
