We are back with another budget TV recommendation to give you and this time we are taking a look at the TCL 49″ 4K Ultra HD 120Hz Roku High Dynamic Range Smart TV sold by Target in the USA.
You may be unfamiliar with the brand as it has only become popular in recent years, but the extreme prices that we have seen for some of their 4K TV sets may make you think about a quick purchase during the holiday season.
Key specs of this TCL 49S405 include a 49-inch display with a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160, 120 Clear Motion Index which means 60Hz native refresh rate, 3 HDMI ports with HDCP 2.2, 1 USB port and Smart TV capability with the Roku platform.
What has surprised us the most though, is that not only does the TCL 49S405 support HDR, but the official specifications sheet states that HDR10 is confirmed as well.
In other words, this is amazing news for gamers as for $350 you can get yourself a 49-inch 4K TV that has full support for 4K HDR gaming on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X consoles which both make use of HDR10 for added picture quality.
Usually you would have to pay well over $500 to get a HDR10 supported 4K TV, so this is definitely a plus point should you wish to buy.
As mentioned above, just be aware that this is only a 60Hz native TV despite anything you may hear from Target staff who will tell you that it offers 120Hz instead.
To get a better idea of what buyers have said about this model, read through the TCL 49S405 49″ 4K UHD HDR Roku Smart TV reviews here over at Target. As of November 2017, it currently has a 4/5 rating with over 45 reviews so read through them all towards the bottom of the page.
If you want to buy it, Target is selling for just $349.99 right now with a special Holiday discount. Let us know what you think about this model below and if you have any questions which we can help with.
