Hitachi 50HK6T74U 4K TV review with HDR missing

It is the best time of the year to buy a 4K TV and especially when retailers are dropping prices to their lowest at the end of November and for a limited time only.

Another model that fits into this category is the Hitachi 50HK6T74U 50″ Smart LED TV which supports an Ultra HD 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.

Other Hitachi 50HK6T74U specs include a 50Hz refresh rate, 4 HDMI 2.0 inputs with HDCP 2.2, WiFi support for Smart apps such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer and YouTube, 3 USB ports, DLNA support and Freeview Play.

Unfortunately though, we can confirm that the Hitachi 50HK6T74U does not support HDR or High Dynamic Range setting, so you won’t be able to get the best quality when hooking up a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X which might be a deal breaker to some of you.

Furthermore, a 50Hz motion rate is not ideal for a 4K TV and a response time of just 6ms is below standard.

Still, Argos are selling this model for £369.99 after a £30 discount so it is still a decent option if you are looking for an affordable entry into 4K viewing.

To see what other buyers have said about this TV, you can read through the Hitachi 50HK6T74U reviews here at Argos . As of November 2017, it currently has a 4.7/5 rating with over 150 reviews to read through.

Are you interested in buying this TV? Grab it from Argos here for £369.99, while we also know that Sainsbury’s are selling for a low price too.

Let us know if you have any questions about this model and if HDR is important on a 4K TV to you or not.

Note: This TV is also available in a 43-inch size with the Hitachi 43HK6T74U and also an even larger version with the 55-inch Hitachi 55HK6T74U if you are looking for other sizes.
