If you were hoping to see a new PlayStation VR 2017 upgrade from Sony, it looks like the company is planning to answer those wishes with a new model that will be available to buy soon.
Sony has quietly unveiled its new model which will be featuring a new design but most importantly new and improved HDR features which should be a welcome change to those that were turned off by HDR issues on the current model.
New features of the PlayStation VR Model CUH-ZVR2 include integrated stereo headphone cables with the VR headset along with a slimmer, streamlined connection cable.
The big feature though is HDR pass through, which will finally let users enjoy HDR content on the PS4 without having to disconnect the Processor Unit between the TV and the PS4.
The bad news is that you can’t use the new Processor Unit on the old PlayStation VR CUH-ZVR1 model because of different cables – meaning you need to buy the new model to enjoy this feature.
Right now there is no confirmed PlayStation VR CUH-ZVR2 release date for US and UK, but we do know that it will be out in Japan on October 14 priced around $400.
