While many users are naturally waiting for any new iPhone 8 leaks, the rest of you could be keeping an eye out for news on the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL which is shaping up to be one of the main iPhone 8 alternatives this year.

While HTC were the manufacturers of the first Pixel phone, we are hearing strong rumors suggesting that the Google Pixel 2 XL will instead be made by LG but that HTC will still manufacture the Pixel 2 according to recent FCC leaks.

Assuming that this is true, it would be an interesting turn of events after the Pixel 1 and it could lead to consumers having to make a difficult decision on whether they prefer HTC or LG as the makers of their phone.

So far, the rumored Google Pixel 2 XL specs list includes a 6-inch AMOLED ‘FullVision’ display, Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in memory, USB Type-C connectivity, ‘squeezable sides’ to act as shortcuts to Google Assistant, water resistance, camera with dual LED flash and possibly Android 8 out of the box as well.

Unfortunately though, one potential road block could be the fact that the Google Pixel 2 XL is rumored to not have a 3.5mm headphone jack and will instead be geared towards Bluetooth audio instead – would this be a big problem for you or not?

You can take a look at the rumored Google Pixel 2 XL design above thanks to renders, you’ll agree that it is a very beautiful looking device with those curved edges and near edge-to-edge display.

What are your thoughts on the Google Pixel 2 specs and design so far? Despite the lack of headphone jack, have you already seen enough to convince you to buy this ahead of the iPhone 8?
