If we were able to give you one piece of advice if you were thinking of buying a new Fiat 500 now, then we would tell you to hold off just a little while. The reason we advise this is because there are to be changes to the 2017 Fiat 500 lineup, and most importantly to their pricing as well.
Having said that, knowing that there are changes coming next year, you could use this to your advantage and maybe haggle a better deal if you were to buy a Fiat 500 right now, although you will need to have nerves of steel.
Three trim levels are to have their price trimmed, and those are the 500 hatchback, convertible, and 500L. That’s not all, as there are to be changes to the models available in those trim levels, such as you will only be able to get them in Pop, Lounge, and Abarth.
With that in mind, this means that the mid-level Turbo model will be gone and so will the 135-horsepower engine option as well.
Some might see this as a bad thing, but Fiat more than likely feels sales of those two are not doing too well, and so would be more cost effective to drop them.
In terms of the new Fiat 500 pricing for 2017, the Abarth will now be $2,850 cheaper, and the Pop and Lounge will get a price cut of $2,000.
