Haier 49UF2500 49-inch 4K UHD TV reviews missing

By Alan Ng - Nov 3, 2016

If you are looking for a cheap TV to buy over the busy Holiday shopping season, then Haier may be a brand that you are interested in. It may be relatively unknown to most, but the Chinese electronics maker is known for offering TV sets with features to rival high-end models from competitors at a fraction of the price.

One model that we are highlighting now is the Haier 49UF2500 49-inch 4K UHD TV sold at retailers such as Kohls. Specs include a 49-inch LED display with a 3840 x 2160p resolution, 4 HDMI ports, HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0.

Unfortunately, that’s about it when it comes to finding out more information about this particular model. This is due to the fact that the Haier 49UF2500 is something of a mystery as it’s not even highlighted on Haier’s official website under the Electronics section.

This could be a warning sign for anyone thinking of buying this 49-inch model in November, while we also have to tell you that there are no Haier 49UF2500 TV review online anywhere – none whatsoever.

We do however have some reviews on other Haier TV models here although some of the feedback left from buyers is not too encouraging we have to say.

Given the fact that this model is missing from the official website, will you avoid buying this model from Kohls during the sales? Leave your thoughts below if you have anything to share on the Haier brand.

I bought this on Black Friday. The only good thing about it was the price. I think the 1080P screen is better than the 4K picture. You’d think the resolution would be at least a little better. There are no options to change the color or contrast settings other than the pre set options. I’d would have rather added the cost to an more expensive TV

After doing extensive bargain hunting, I bought one today ($250) from Kohls. [I really had my sights on a Samsung 50″ 4k 120hz for 397.99 at Target, in-store only, but I called around all the Targets in my city (Minneapolis) this morning and they were all sold out. I highly suggest you call your local Target to see if they have this model.] I know I’m taking a chance with the Haier but the price is simply unbeatable for a 4k. My current smart HD tv has all the sites and connectivity, but I never use them; and I’ll be hooking it up to an excellent home theater audio system so won’t worry about the speaker sound. And it looks like Kohls has a very friendly return policy which I think is one year …somebody correct me if I’m wrong. My HD LED 50″ Hisense has circuitry that ups the hertz rate from 60 to 120. I wonder if the Haier will have something similar.

Anyway, I’ll try and remember to get back to this site to tell you what I think or if it even works when we pick it up from Kohls (bought it online).

Hooked it up on Sunday. The picture is great. The UHD programming that I occasionally see looks fabulous. The remote and general quality doesn’t look great, but who cares when the picture is fab? Also got $75 in Kohl’s cash …so my wife bought new curtains. A bonus I guess.
Anybody know if I need a UHD blue ray player to take advantage of the tv? I currently have a normal blue ray player.
Let’s hope it lasts a little while anyway.

i emailed haier about the 49UF2500. they said it is a brand new model and their website is still being updated with new models. it doesn’t look like it’s a smart tv, which would be fine by me because i’m looking for a non-smart tv. so far it’s been impossible to find one. my concern is the very mixed reviews about haier tvs. there’s good but there’s also many very bad reviews.

    • Locutus000

No, it’s not a smart tv…whcih suits me fine.

My 1st plasma TV was a 42in Haier brand and was purchased at Nebraska Furniture Mart about 9years ago on a black friday deal for $500… And It’s still going strong! I wasn’t aware of the brand at that time took a chance and have never had a problem with it. I have since learned that this brand actually bought out GE appliances for 5.4Billion. I wouldn’t be afraid of purchasing this TV at all

I thought about buying one of these tv’s but after reading this I don’t think I will. Thanks for posting this. It was really helpful. Also I have a zte phone which is a Chinese manufacturer and it works great so I didn’t mind this tv being Chinese. But it sounds like a dud so I think I’ll pass.

I think it is great buy @ 249.99 during the black Friday event at Kohls. Also how do you come to the conclusion of it sounding like a dud?

      • Anthony Szabo

I think it sounds like a dud because there are no reviews about it yet. It may be because it’s a black Friday exclusive. But if you read the other reviews of other models they are bad. They say the sound is very tinny. I mean, you could always use a sound bar but I don’t like those and don’t have room for one. My current TV is a Samsung TV I bought a few years ago and it sounds amazing. I’d like to believe this TV will be a great deal and be high quality but it sounds like it’s cheaply made. I have seen decent deals on other 4k TV’s that they will have for black Friday like a 55″ curved 4k TV for $700. That’s a steal of a deal. If I had the money I’d get it.

        • Locutus000

Who buys a 4K tv for the sound?

        • Anthony Szabo

Everyone unless they are deaf or have the space/money for a home theater or sound bar.
