Hatchimals UK stock update from Tesco, Argos, Toys R Us and Smyths

By Peter Chubb - Jan 3, 2017

Update January 3, 2017: We have entered a new year, and still there are stock issues for the Hatchimals – and so we have to wonder just how long it will be before consumer patience starts to wear thin?

Each year there is always a must have item, albeit a toy, game or something else. We have already looked at the poor levels of stock for the Shout Out Game, and now we wanted to offer you a Hatchimals UK stock update from the likes of Tesco, Argos and Toys R Us.

We know that Hatchimals are one of the must have toys for Christmas 2016, and so it is for this very reason why stocks are very low. First up, we should warn you that if you find a website or store selling one of these items, then the Hatchimals price you should be paying is £59.99. If they are asking for more, then they are trying to take advantage of the shortage of stock.

If you follow this article each day we will be able to offer you updates as to which store has stock and also the latest prices.

    Hatchimals currently in stock:

  • Toys R Us – The price is £59.99 and is available in limited stores
  • Smyths – You can pre-order your choices of Hatchimals from November 7th to November 14th, so please keep checking back.
Hatchimals where stock is limited and higher than the recommended retail price:

  • eBay is selling these toys far higher than their RRP.
  • Amazon also have these fury toys with prices starting from around £90.

There are several Hatchimals to collect, not only by name, but colour as well, which includes Pengualas Pink Egg, Owlicorn Egg, Draggles Green and Purple Egg and Hatchimals Pengualas Teal Egg. Some of these are still available, although the harder ones to get are Bearakeet.

Have you managed to get hold of a Hatchimals magical creature yet?

I think it’s a disgrace about these stock issues – you would have assumed the manufacturer would have been able to do something about this by now.

  • Justin

I hate the fact that Spin Master created these toys and knew right away how popular they would be, yet never really had production in place to handle such high volumes,

  • Mel

I officially give up on these toys, it’s not like they were anything fantastic anyway.

  • Suz

People are so crazy for this one toy! You should be teaching your children the meaning of Christmas then you wouldn’t have to worry about £100+ on a stupid toy that will be £40 in March!

  • Bob

I feel the people that have been able to purchase a few of these, only to go onto eBay and sell them for twice, to three times their RRP should feel disgusted with themselves.

  • Jason

I’ve decided against getting one of these toys now, as I need to get a gift now for my child while I still have the money. Having said that, I am glad of this, as I know such a toy would be a novelty.

  • Ashleigh

Absolutely heart breaking not being able to get your child the one gift she wants…. just simply cannot afford £100+ from ebay! such a shame people are buying so many and selling them at such an inflated price….. I suppose thats just life! 🙁

  • Leanne

What I find very annoying is the fact that you look on Facebook and some people have images of them with several Hatchimal toys, which I feel is entirely selfish.

  • Danny

Well, I went to my nearest Smyths toy store, and surprise surprise, all the Hatchimals were sold out.

  • Ellie

I’m sure I can actually see people in my local Smyths store putting out Hatchimals right now. The good news is, I am the only sad person waiting outside in the freezing cold.

  • Gail

Already waiting outside my local store, so let’s see if I can actually get one of these toys today.

  • Martin

I think the company that makes these toys have constrained shipping to stores in order to make them far more popular, it’s not like other companies have never done it before.

  • Jules

I was very lucky to be at my local Tesco Extra store early this morning, and managed to get hold of one of these sought after toys.

  • Sara

This is getting beyond the joke now, especially when you see people going on Facebook showing they have managed to pick up 3 Hatchimals – come on people you should be fair about this.

  • Doug

People are going to start to think I am a weirdo, as I have started to hang around my local Tesco Extra later at night, and also early in the morning in the hope of getting a Hatchimal for my child.

  • Nigel

I just cannot see Smyths getting stock of these in-store on Friday, as it would be manic, and so Saturday does sound more plausible. Having said that, the retailer could still get stock in on Friday, albeit online only.

  • Jasmine

I was in my local Smyths toy store today, and I overheard one of the staff members talking about where they are going to put their Hatchimals display for this Saturday, and so this update does make sense.

  • Danny

I cannot wait, I will hopefully be able to get these as part of the Argos 3 for 2, which we know begins on the 4th of November.

    • Lyndse Steward

Took me 3 weeks of constant checking on line to get a pink 1 for my daughter and 4 weeks to get a green 1 for my son. Tesco direct seem to be the place receiving stock more frequently but you have to be quick as they sell out within minutes of having stock. My advice is keep the tesco hatchimal page open in your browser and check every 10-15 mins, even if it says out of stock if you catch it at the right time you can add it to your basket and pay because before theyve had chance to register they have stock theyve sold out again,it can take weeks to finally catch 1 in stock but it will be worth it when the little
open them on Christmas morning. Good luck
