Mortal Kombat XL, Kombat Pack 2 PC KO due to low player base?

Mortal Kombat X players on PC have been met with what can only be described as a bombshell this week with two pieces of news that is probably going to make you very disappointed.

The first is the fact that Mortal Kombat XL is not coming out for PC, full stop. This is the new ‘GOTY’ edition of the game if you like which comes complete with every single piece of DLC content released for the game so far – including Kombat Pack 2 content.

If that wasn’t bad enough, we can also confirm that Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat X won’t be coming either. This has been confirmed by NetherRealm Studios on the official forums for the game, without any detailed explanation either.

Many are speculating that Warner Bros has made the decision due to a low player base of PC players, compared to console versions which everyone is obviously playing the most.

As a result, Mortal Kombat XL as well as KP2 for MKX is only for PS4 and Xbox One platforms. Mortal Kombat XL has just been confirmed for launch on March 1 and if you are reading this as a PC gamer, you can check out the gameplay below to see what you will be missing.

What is your reaction on the fact that Mortal Kombat X PC support appears to have been killed off suddenly – do you think it has something to do with the player base figures, or something deeper?

Either way, it’s bad news for those that decided to buy PC over console as the Kombat Pack 2 content looks amazing so far – leave your thoughts below.
