2016 Vauxhall Astra tease reveals exterior design

The Vauxhall is a much-loved vehicle in the UK and over the years has undergone a transformation to help keep up with the ever-popular Ford Focus. It has to be a pretty decent car considering this is Top Gear’s reasonably priced car. However, the current model is still in need of a few changes, and the latest Vauxhall Astra tease looks rather promising.

Several new images of the all-new Vauxhall Astra have come to light and they reveal more of the exterior than we have seen to date. We can already see a few design flares taken from the Monza concept, although Vauxhall has cannibalized the front grille from the Adam.

The new model is not going to be a significant change in terms of styling over the current model, but just enough to help lift it to give it a new lease of life.

However, we can tell you that it will be slightly longer and will offer a more upmarket appeal.

2016 Vauxhall Astra

What we do like about the new model is how the five-door model seen in the teaser images on Autocar looks very similar to that of the three-door. This is a huge deal because the three-door version has always had the better styling, and so offering this to the more family-oriented model is sure to improve sales.

It’s not all about the exterior, as the 2016 Vauxhall Astra interior is to get a revamp as well, as it will be considered a far better place to be. We are not certain on what technologies will be inside, but we know the new Astra will help to improve connectivity.

We expect to see the 2016 Vauxhall Astra released in around 18 months time.
