2016 Toyota Tacoma vs. 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel for performance

We know what you are thinking, why compare the 2016 Toyota Tacoma to the 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel, seeing as though they cater for different markets because they are different sized trucks. That is a great point, but you will be surprised at how many people would like to know the performance advantage one has over the other.

2016 Toyota Tacoma vs. 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel performance — First up we have the all-new Tacoma that comes with a more refined 3.5-liter engine rather than the thirsty and lumpy 4.0-liter V6 lump. What you get from this new power unit is 270 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, which should translate it to impressive performance figures.

2015 Ram 1500 Rebel performance

We know that truck drivers like to have choice when it comes to engines, and the 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel gives potential owners just that. You have the choice of a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that pumps out 305 horsepower with 269 lb.-ft. of torque. What we find more impressive is its 25-MPG fuel economy and how it manages to produce considerably more power than the 100cc less engine option of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma.

However, for those looking for a bit more in terms of performance, then the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 might be more like it. The figures for this option are 395 horsepower and an impressive 410 lb.-ft. of torque.

While details of these can be found on the Toyota and Ram press pages, we cannot wait to see how well each truck performs once we see a hands-on review of each.
