Jaguar is set to reveal an all-electric SUV in 2016, with an aim to release it in 2017. We don’t yet know what the model will be called, although it is clear it will have a few rivals in its sights, namely the Volvo EV that is coming, along with the Tesla Model X.
The car will also be in completion with the Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro, although that is still in concept form. Speaking of which, this upcoming Jaguar EV SUV will have several design touches taken from the C-X75 hyper concept — so we cannot wait to see its design.
We thought we would mention the Audi above because the proposed launch date of Jaguar’s Electric SUV will be around the same time as its rival, albeit by a few months.
Little is known about this new model, although Autocar suspects its price will be around the £60,000 mark, so again very similar to the Audi. Jaguar plans to offer its new SUV EV distinctive styling, something you don’t see much with other models, as they do look very similar to cars that run on normal fuel.
It’s not just the styling that will be revolutionary, as Tata has given the green light for Jaguar to throw a lot of money into this project, as they know vehicles such as this are the future, and so wants to be at the forefront of it.
Both Tata and Jaguar has seen the success that Tesla Motors is having, and so now wants to see what it can do by throwing a huge amount of money into such a project.
