Honda UK has made the horrible decision to increase the price of some of their model lineup, something that the company has tried to hold off for the past year. However, with the market now being more competitive, they feel a price increase had to happen – although we do struggle with that sort of logic.
Surely, to offer an industry price competitiveness, as Honda says, then prices would need to be reduced – although we are no experts on such things?
The price increase it to start from tomorrow, December 1st for the Honda HR-V, and from January 4th, 2016 for the Civic hatchback, Civic Tourer, Jazz and CR-V. However, there is one bit of good news (or so Honda tells us) and that is how one of their competitors increased prices on an average of 3 percent over the past year, while theirs will increase by an average of 2.3 percent.
Managing Director of Honda UK, Philip Crossman has said that the decision to increase prices was not an easy one to make, and have been reviewing pricing comprehensively over the past 3 years.
Full details can be found here. Speaking of Honda; the Civic Type R has been awarded the Hot Hatch Title at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards, so at least that is one piece of good news.
