Fallout 4 console commands for PS4 after PC warning

By Alan Ng - Nov 23, 2015

We can see that there is a lot of demand from PS4 and Xbox One owners, with many asking the question on whether Fallout 4 console commands are coming to PS4 and Xbox One – since they are available solely on the PC version right now.

If you are holding on to the hope of Fallout 4 console commands on PS4 and Xbox One though, Bethesda has recently dashed those hopes permanently.

You may not be aware, but the developer does not actually condone PC players using the dev-console in game. Everyone still does it obviously, but Bethesda has warned that it could pose serious issues with Fallout 4 game saves if used incorrectly.

As a result, Pete Hines has said that for this main reason console commands won’t be coming to PS4 and Xbox One for the time being.

This may be disappointing given that we recall the Xbox 360 version of Skyrim could be used with console commands by transferring game saves over to PC then transferring back.

Then again, that wasn’t a straightforward process and obviously Sony and Microsoft are not likely to ever allow console commands on their systems as it could create further problems when used for nefarious purposes.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you have liked to have seen a console command list on Fallout 4 for PS4 and Xbox One – or do you agree that this is simply impossible with many users too tempted to execute harmful commands?

It surprises me that Bethesda doesn’t condone the use of console commands on PC yet they actively support players modding till their heart’s content. I’ve not heard of anyone trashing their game through the use of the console. These commands are readily available all over the net and not one person on these forums has complained that using them has led to anything but an trouble-free experience. C’mon, Bethesda, give us console players the console commands.
