Toshiba 49-inch 49L310U TV reviews are positive

By Peter Chubb - Nov 10, 2015

Even though we are in 2015, it is still taking a while for 4K UHD TVs to take hold of the market, although with recent price cuts on a range of models, it won’t be too long before the tide shifts, and 1080p is soon pushed aside. However, in the meantime, you still can’t go wrong with a Toshiba 1080p HDTV.

We say this because we have noticed that the Toshiba 49-inch 49L310U TV is still proving very popular with consumers, and you only have to look at its positive review score. We did find when looking at this model that it can only be bought from Best Buy, and a search on the Toshiba website never any results, albeit the user manual. We can only assume that the company has discontinued the model, and that Best Buy has a backlog of stock – or it was an exclusive to them, which we have seen from the likes of Samsung in the past.

Before we look at what owners have to say about this model, we thought we would go through some of the Toshiba 49L310U 1080p LED HDTV specs.

What we have here is a 48.5-inch panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, which is a long way off what you get from a 4K TV. Nevertheless, this is still ideal as your main TV if you are on a budget, or just looking for a second TV in your bedroom, or another room in the home.

It has a 60Hz refresh rate and a 9 ms response time, which does help reduce blurring if watching fast motion scenes that you get in action movies or sports.

Other features include 8W speakers, 3 HDMI inputs and 1 USB. You will notice the lack of WiFi, as this TV does not come with any smart features, although this can be easily overcome with a device like the new Apple TV or Fire TV Stick or Chromecast 2.

As for those reviews, we can see that out of 10 customers, they have given this TV 4.9 our of 5 starts, which we have to say is very impressive. Sone of them have said things like, “Wonderful TV great sound and picture”, along with, “not a smart tv but suits my needs with good quality picture.” This seems to sum up this TV. Head to Best Buy to read more of these user reviews.

Can you see yourself still buying a 1080p TV, or do you think it is now time to move up to 4K?

why would anyone waste money on a smart or 4k tv? I cant figure it out! The cable companies just upgraded to 720p a few years ago and are not going to upgrade to 4k for probably 10-20 more years. Also the there is very limited 4k video on streaming services as well and you need a tv about 60-80 inches to begin to see any discernible improvements in picture quality based on the resolution alone. almost everyone these days has a laptop or desktop computer that can be hooked up to a tv and do ten times more then any smart tv interface. Not to mention that some smart tvs spy on people now. Its a no brainer to to get a 1080p tv over the way more expensive smart 4k tvs with feature and settings that can’t even really be used or used well.

Because 1) they make EXCELLENT computer monitors and 2) also for BluRay. WHY? Because they UPCOVERT the 1080p signal to 4K and the results are ASTOUNDING! Gaming and streaming, same thing. So, although there is very little content otherwise, THESE REASONS make them a great purchase now, AND you are future-zip roofing yourself as well. I have a 55″ VIZIO P Series 4K and I’m so glad I got it! It’s amazing!
