Fallout 4 Xbox One bundle means PS4 misses out

By Alan Ng - Oct 5, 2015

Fans were expecting Microsoft’s Xbox One bundles event to feature Fallout 4 and now we can see that they haven’t disappointed. The Fallout 4 Xbox One bundle is now available and sadly it means that there probably won’t be any ‘official’ Fallout 4 PS4 bundles available prior to launch.

Microsoft and Bethesda already signed a deal for the Creation Kit and mods to arrive before PlayStation, not to mention a free copy of Fallout 3 on top of that with all purchases.

Now the bundle has arrived and for the price of $399 you can get a 1TB console, a copy of Fallout 4, a downloadable voucher for Fallout 3 and a standard headset.

The Fallout 4 Xbox One bundle pre-order at Amazon is already live so place your order early to guarantee delivery on November 10 when Fallout 4 launches.

We know that many of you are now asking is there going to be a Fallout 4 bundle for PS4. Given the announcement of the Xbox One bundle though – that doesn’t look likely.

However, it doesn’t stop retailers having their own exclusive bundles in store. We could still see some console packages with the game closer to or on release, so all is not lost yet.

Are you disappointed that the Fallout 4 bundle is on Xbox One and not PS4? Let us know if you would have paid the same money to get the package on PS4 instead of Xbox.

Honestly, from what I’ve seen of the Xbox Fallout Bundle, I think I’d prefer the Halo 5 one instead. As for the PS4, I really would’ve liked to get that Japan-only Dragon Quest bundle.

Xbox sucks. 22 million people have already bought PS4s. We don’t need your bundle.

10 million have already realised their mistake and have sold them.

While I agree that the PS4 has superior hardware, I wouldn’t call the Xbox sucky by any means.

I feel it’s important to remember that without competition, we’re screwed as consumers. When the PS3 was bad to us, Xbox saved the day. In this gen, when the Xbox tried to screw us over, the PS4 saved the day.

The thing is though, we’re lucky that this “hardcore” console duopoly isn’t collaborating instead of competing. If MS and Sony ever decide to screw us consumers over together, we are royally hosed unless Nintendo does something or Steam Machines take off.

My point is: competition is good, monopolies suck. So the Xbox doesn’t suck as long as it keeps the Playstation brand honest, and vice versa.
