17 app download removed from Apple Store

We have some breaking news to bring you now, as we can confirm that the recent viral social app, 17 ‘Your life’s Moments’ has been removed from the App Store.

If you are wondering why you can’t find 17 on the App Store today, it looks like Apple has purposefully removed it.

This comes days after Google pulled a similar move with the Android version of the app by yanking the Play Store download – which we told you about in a previous article over the weekend.

This is going to be a surprise to many smartphone owners, as it was only a few days ago when 17 was being advertised by Apple as the number 1 free app to download from the store.

Now it has disappeared completely and for those asking why the 17 app has been removed from the App Store – promoting nudity may be one likely explanation.

The app is currently extremely popular over in Asia, due to the fact that it actually generates revenue for those with an account, based on how many viewers visit their page.

As a result, the competition is naturally going to be fierce and Apple may have realised that they don’t want to promote this kind of behaviour in view to other developers – let alone highlight it as the top free app to download.

We are waiting for further details on this, but as you can see from the image above – the 17 app link download is gone from the US Store.

I don’t think it has much to do with the business model but rather with the fact that you can find people doing all sorts of things for money, especially sex related.
