Test Microsoft Surface 3 features before buying

By Alan Ng - Apr 3, 2015

We have some more intel on the exciting Surface 3 tablet for you now and it’s more good news. Microsoft has revealed that consumers will be able to test out the device before the May launch by heading into one of their Stores in the US and Canada.

The Surface 3 does not go on sale until May 5, but Microsoft has just said that those eager to try the device will be able to – without restriction.

What this means is that you won’t need to make a special appointment, or need to queue up at all. Microsoft has said that you can simply walk in to use the device as you please.

Considering how high profile the Surface 3 launch is going to be, this is a very nice gesture by Microsoft in making units available to the public ahead of launch.

If you are thinking about getting the $499 tablet, this is a great opportunity to try before you buy – there’s really nothing to lose if you manage to get some personal hands-on time with the device before May 5.

Let us know if you will be taking advantage of this and if you are leaning towards buying the new Surface 3 ahead of any other tablet on the market currently.

My wife has been itching to get her hands on a Surface ever since they came out for her office work. She was issued a MacBook Air, but the limitations of OSX drove her up the wall to the point that she had IT put Windows 8.1 on it so she could get some work done without wondering where her next compatibility problem would arise. With the pen and the rest of the accessories, this looks very promising, and at a great price point.
