New PS4 themes live in US, not free either

By Alan Ng - Jan 21, 2015

We have some big news for PS4 owners now, as a new batch of PS4 themes have just turned up by surprise over on the US PS store.

The interesting thing though is that these themes are not made by Sony and as far as we’re aware, this is the first occasion where we have seen third-party designed themes being sold for PS4.

Some of the designs are lovely, there are a whopping 31 new themes to choose from all of which have been designed by a number of different companies by the name of Smobile, Disruptive Media Publishers and ‘Virtual Burger’ – yes that is the name.

Since they are third-party themes, they are not free to download sadly. We can see that prices vary from $2.99 to $3.49 – they shouldn’t be higher than that.

Some examples of $3.49 themes include the Aquarium Dynamic theme which looks really pretty, while there’s also a cool Serious Cat theme for $2.99 which some of you may be interested in buying.

Either way, they are all live on the US store right now. As far as we’re aware, they are not live for other regions yet, but hopefully they will be by the end of the week.

Are you tempted by these themes, or do you think they are too expensive? Give us your thoughts below.
