With the Detroit Auto Show for 2015 ready to open its doors in a few hours, there have already been a few previews, and one of them was news on the 2015 Range Rover and Sport diesel models, which will become available to drivers in the USA. We have been told that details on their release will come either today or tomorrow.
The diesel versions have been an option for drivers in Europe for a while now but the US market has been missing out, and so it is great news that this is soon to be rectified.
Land Rover recently announced that the 3.0-liter, turbodiesel V6 will be engine options for both the 2015 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Seeing as though these SUVs like to drink the gas these more fuel-efficient engines could be very welcome, even more so once gas prices begin to increase again.
Do you think there is still a need for diesel engines, especially as the price gap between diesel and gas is so large, and the fact that carmakers have been making some great advancements in fuel- efficiency with gasoline engines?
