The 2015 Ford F-150 has a lot riding on it, and it is no surprise that some of the top auto websites have been looking at how the new truck compares to the Ram 1500 and the Silverado 1500. These are its closest rivals and it is great to see a shootout between the three, although only if it is done right.
Motor Trend has taken the all-new Ford F-150 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine model and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4×4 and the Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 with its 5.3-liter engine to see how the three measure up against each other.
However, it would seem the comparison results are biased because the moment you begin reading the article it is as if they have already picked a winner before they have tested them. An example of this is where the RAM came last on a 0-30 mph test, although they come up with excuses saing it more or less keeps up with the competition.
In most of the tests the 1500 RAM does not perform as well as the F-150, yet it still manages to put Ford’s new truck down by saying things like “unknown maintenance issues” because a price cannot be put on repairing the aluminum body. It’s funny how they never said the same thing about the Silverado, which has an aluminum hood, yet it never got a negative score for it.
Have a read of the comparison and let us know if you feel it is one-sided?
