2015 Ford F-150 sales not so reliant on gas prices

There are several reasons why drivers in the U.S. would want to purchase a new 2015 Ford F-150, with fuel-efficiency being one of the popular reasons. However, there is concern with investors that plummeting gas prices could have an impact on sales, although we don’t fully see it that way.

Reason for concern — The price of gasoline in the U.S. has been falling steadily in recent weeks and is currently the lowest it has been in years. Ford investors believe that drivers are less likely to worry about how many mpg they can get from a truck, and so might go for a truck that is not as fuel-efficient as the all-new F-150 but cheaper.

The Detroit Bureau reports that shareholders are only presuming that sales of the new truck will fall just like gas prices have, but there is more to it than efficiency alone. Let’s get one thing straight, gas prices are not going to stay this low for long, we know it is a negative view, but it is a realistic one.

If prices were to stay low, this would only help to stimulate sales of trucks, and even more so the 2015 F-150 because your money spent on gas will go even further.

There are two arguments to this news though, such as it being silly for there to be nervousness that a lighter and more fuel-efficient truck could see sales drop because of lower gas prices. However, when you consider the RAM is cheaper than its rival, this may take precedence over fuel economy.

A word of warning to those that side with the latter point, this is short-term thinking, gas prices will go up, it’s just a matter of when.
