The latest Graco stroller recall for 2014 is yet another example of not enough testing being done because if they had been, then we would not be hearing the awful news that some people have been injured, not only parents but children as well. Not all models from the range can cause peoples fingers to be amputated or suffer severe lacerations, but those that can are now being recalled.
Check your Graco stroller model number – In order to verify if your stroller is affected by this recall, then you need to check the model number by looking at the bottom of the back stroller leg, where you will see a white label above the rear wheel. Once you have the number just enter it in the search tool here.
If your model is not affected you will see a message informing you of the fact on the same page. However, if there is an issue with your stroller you will be taken to a new page which has the message “Your stroller is affected by this recall”. In order for yours to be repaired free of charge you are asked to fill in the necessary fields, but if you have more than one stroller affected, you will need to fill out separate forms for each one.
Around 4.7 million strollers have to recalled in the US, 202,000 in Canada and around 10,300 in Mexico. An entire list of models can be seen in the image above.
