Having already explained on many occasions that some of the smaller flat screen TVs have pretty poor sound because of not having enough space to hold large enough speakers with a woofer, one particular Element 39-inch LED HDTV model seems to have solved this issue, or so they say. This one comes with a built-in JBL 2.1 sound bar, which brings with it improved sound quality over its rivals.
While they may have come up with a system that helps give this 39-inch TV better audio quality, the same cannot be said for some of its other features. This is because its specs leave a lot to be desired. This model offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080, screen brightness of 350 cd/m2, contrast ratio of 5,000:1, a response time of 8.5ms, viewing angle of 176 x 176 and an aspect ratio of 16:9.
Other features include Progressive scan, 3D comb filter, set sound modes, and a sleep timer. As for connections and measurements these are 3 HDMI inputs, 1 component, 1 composite, Coaxial RF input, 1 audio input, VGA and a USB port. Dimensions without stand are 36.4″ width, 23.1″ high and 4.6″ in depth. With stand the measurements are 36.4″, 25.1″ and 11.1″ respectively.
The particular model is not in the current range of Element TVs, but you can still purchase one on eBay for refurbished models at certain locations.
Some people have purchased the ELEFC391 thinking this is the one with the JBL sound, only to go home and be left disappointed. Most other features are the same and we already know its picture quality is more than good enough for most rooms in the home, although not sure it will be able to take up pride of place in your living room.
