Taking a look at Apple Watch vs. Moto 360 has been done many times since Apple revealed their offering, although the debate has moved towards the differences in band options for both Apple Watch and Moto 360 by Motorola.
Both brands approach customization in this area with different abilities and it seems like consumers are split on what is better between Apple Watch and Moto 360 for bands.
Early rumors about Apple’s Watch bands weren’t clear at all, but now we’ve seen exactly what’s coming when the early 2015 release date arrives, it’s now time for consumers to decide what they’d prefer on a smartwatch.
The Apple watch bands are designed with the same care seen with the watch itself. Apple Watch owners will be able to customize their bands with the look of the face, so this means a full range of options are on offer with different materials each designed with a variety of finishes.
Debate surrounding Moto 360 vs. Apple Watch bands – one of our readers explained that the Moto 360 is able to fit any third party 22mm strap, so in their opinion this beats Apple’s Watch band options even if they do look great. In reality, it’s not this simple and one Moto 360 owner made that clear after being told to “visit a jeweler” by Motorola thanks it apparently taking “special tools” to add 3rd party 22mm bands to Moto 360.
Apple’s Watch trailer revealed a really easy way to switch bands with a simple clip-on, and of course the range of colors and materials will be very appealing. For some people, “infinite variety on Moto 360 should be better than the Apple Watch band options, even if changing the bands on Moto 360 will be difficult”.
Bottom-line: This might come down to the differences seen between Apple’s iOS and Android. Google’s OS has a lot more customization and this can sometimes confuse people, so they opt for a more closed but organized iOS 8. The Apple Watch has band options that will be easy to change and simplified, but with more effort you could have cheaper and more variety with Moto 360. The choice is yours.
