Many of you will be wondering what the iOS 8 release time is by time zone in the US, and we thought we would break them down for you so that you can prepare yourself for such a big day. There are nine timezones in all that vary by seven hours.
For our UK readers we would just like to point out that you can expect the iOS 8 download to begin at 6PM local time, which is nice and easy seeing that there is just the one time zone for that country.
Atlantic Time Zone 2PM – There are several important areas within this time zone, and we are sure many residents will be waiting in anticipation for iOS 8. You have the U.S. Virgin Islands, although there are not many other areas owned by the US.
Eastern or (ET, EST) 1PM – There are far more areas on this zone, with the big players being New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, to name but a few.
CST – Central Standard Time 12PM – Areas such as Texas, Florida, Tennessee and Michigan are covered in this zone, and so at 12PM you should be able to download iOS 8 onto your devices.
Mountain Time Zone 11AM – If you live in this region, then you will be able to get iOS 8 on your iPhone at 11AM in places such as Colorado, Idaho and Utah.
PST – Pacific Standard Time 10AM – This is pretty much the main time zone for iOS 8, as Apple calls California home, although the state of Washington is also in this zone.
Other time zones are Alaska Time Zone, which means iOS 8 will be available at 9AM, Hawaii-Aleutian is another, and will see the download go live at 8AM and Samoa at 7AM.
There is one final time zone for the US, and that is the Chamorro Time Zone and covers the US territories of Guam, as well as the the Northern Mariana Islands.
We hope you have fun with iOS 8 later today, just as we have during the beta process.
