iPhone 6 vs. Galaxy S5 vs. HTC One M8 comparison

By Peter Chubb - Sep 15, 2014

Having been on vacation during Apple’s iPhone 6 event last week I am now playing catch-up, although I did manage to pre-order my new handset last week, but not the Plus model, as it is just too big for my needs. My colleagues did manage to offer some insight into these new smartphones from Apple, but this has made me wonder just how they compare to rival devices.

We have already looked at how the iPhone 6 compares to its Plus sibling, as well as the Nexus 4, although this was a biased review from Android haters. It is for this reason why we thought we would see how the iPhone 6 compares to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One M8, which are the two closest rivals – for now.

iPhone 6 vs Samsung Galaxy S5 video review comparison – In the first video the editor compares the features and specs of each phone to see just how they stack up against each other. If you were to look on paper, then it would be the latter that comes out on top, but we all know that the new iPhone punches far above its weight thanks to a seamless integration between its hardware and software.

It is up to you to watch the video and decide which of the two smartphones has the edge because while the S5 seems to be more feature rich, there is no denying the iPhone 6 build is of better quality.

iPhone 6 Vs. HTC One M8 comparison – While we await a full hands-on comparison between such handsets, we can already build up a great idea from the second video that looks at many of their key features, such as hardware and design. Both have a sleek design, although the iPhone 6 has the edge thanks to its 6.9mm thinness. However, the HTC One M8 redeems itself thanks to its front-facing speakers and expandable storage.

Please watch both videos below and let us know which handset gets your vote.

  • iphone 6. Can’t wait to see what iOS8 has to offer. They are just way better thought-out in every single aspect and actually comes with useful rather than gimmicky features. Eyeball tracking? please

Has to be the HTC m8, not just for phone quality, and specs but for their after care services to. Apple are knocking iPhone’s out like candy no quality for the price you pay and a less spec phone than others on market.

Samsung all the way. My son passed me his HTC 1 m8 to look at. It slid through my fingers and dropped on to the sofa. TOO SLIPPERY FOR ME. He now reports the glass has cracked even though it was in its case.My favorite thing about the S5 is wireless charging. MAGIC. The iphone 6 its as though new tech. has passed it by. No usb 3. Poor cameras etc.etc. Apple is no longer the leader of the pack. They have gone, gone, gone.

I was an iPhone user for about 6 years but I finally decided to switch to the dark side (ie. Android lol) and purchase the HTC one m8.

They are amazing! After only spending about 3 days with my android I doubt I’ll ever go back to iOS for the forseeable future. Android devices are better and cheaper at the same time.

Where’s the G3? Out of all them I’ll vote the HTC One M8 though. They’re just sort of classy. 🙂
