MacBook Pro updated today, 2014 Mac mini favored

By Peter Chubb - Jul 29, 2014

There had been a rumor to suggest that Apple was about to refresh its MacBook Pro lineup, which we reported on. It does pay off to believe some of the leaks coming from Chinese websites though because this rumor was actually true, as Apple has made the upgrades live.

2014 Mac mini favored over the MacBook Pro refresh – While it may be nice to see the MacBook Pro updated today with various improvements, there is no getting away from the issue that the Mac mini update is long overdue, and seeing Apple make improvements to other products in its range is seen as a kick in the teeth.

The current Mac mini design is several years old now and is crying out for an update, something that we have covered several times. Ok, so we know the latest MacBook Pro update is only minor, which you can see by visiting the Apple Store, and the Mac mini is in need of a more extensive update, and so we may have to wait a few months more.

People have taken to Twitter to highlight the fact that Apple has yet to update the mini and would rather offer multiple updates for some of its other products.

It is rather clear that a new Mac mini is more desired over this latest MacBook update, although Mac users do have a hard time deciding if they would rather a smaller design and sacrifice hardware, or stick with the same size and include improved hardware that is perfect for gaming.

Going back to the updated OS X Mac laptop, the prices have remained the same and only the processor has seen a minor update, as has the amount of RAM in each machine.
