We have some important information for those of you who are planning to get Destiny later this year. The beta may be starting next week, but it looks like details on the Destiny PS4 install size has already been revealed prior to release.
As expected, it’s going to be a massive install as well. Considering that the likes of Killzone Shadow Fall was 50GB in size, it should be no surprise to hear that Destiny on PS4 will require 40GB of space at least.
The information has been confirmed by Sony, on their online listing for Destiny Digital Guardian Edition which comes with extra content not found in the standard edition.
We can also see that Sony has said that more space will be required for future updates and features, so don’t be too shocked if it ends up another 50GB install like Killzone this September.
While this is obviously for the digital version of Destiny, those buying disc copies will still have to put up with a huge install as the disc is merely for authentication purposes – all the data from the disc is still installed onto the hard drive one way or another.
We bet you are glad that you have a 500GB hard drive now compared to the PS3 days. Although a ten game limit at 50GB a game sounds very scary when you think about it.
Let us know your thoughts on this – were you expecting a big install size for game such as Destiny?
