Surface Mini with RT or full Windows 8 OS

Many Windows fans are waiting patiently for Microsoft to finally disclose official information regarding the Surface Mini release date, after the smaller version was name dropped inside the Surface Pro 3 user manual.

It was the initial assurance that consumers needed to suggest that a bitesize Surface was on the way, but now there has been even more additional information to really put some weight behind the Surface Mini release rumors.

This week, leak specialists EVLeaks have sprung a surprise by boldly announcing on Twitter that the Surface Mini is on the way for a release this Summer.

Usually we are treated to image leaks from the site but this time they have gone for straight up news which suggests to us that they are not joking around.

We knew that the Surface Mini exists, but there were rumors that production had been cancelled in Asia. Now though, it would be great to see the tablet finally go on sale alongside the Surface Pro 3 this Summer.

Would you be willing to buy Microsoft’s tablet ahead of any new iPad release this year? Let us know your thoughts on this and your preference on using Microsoft RT for tablets, or a full version of Windows 8 instead as your OS preference.

Should Microsoft scrap Windows RT for the Surface Mini altogether, or do you not see it happening with such a small display size?
