WD TV Personal Edition specs and price

Western Digital recently updated one of its TV streaming player devices, and we are told that the WD TV Personal Edition has so much more to offer, so how come it does not have a Netflix app? Okay, so it is great to see the company update another of its models, but leaving out such an important feature could limit its success.

Looking over some of the main WD TV Personal Edition specs, such 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Ethernet port, HDMI, USB 2.0 and optical audio out ports, it doesn’t lack in terms of connectivity. Neither does it for file support, as you can play a huge number of different file formats, which you can see listed on the Western Digital website.

WD TV Personal Edition price is $100, which is the same you pay for Apple TV and comes with many of the same apps, such as YouTube and Hulu Plus, although the WD device does have other apps that are unavailable to Apple TV, which you can also see a full list of in the link above.

We do find it funny how Western Digital is promising the fact that its new media streaming player comes with Miracast, meaning you can mirror what you are watching on your Android device onto your TV, which is a very basic feature for these devices.

Having said that, this is still a very capable device, we just think the lack of Netflix is going to affect sales.
