Android 4.4.3 update for Nexus 7, 10 this week, possibly

It was last month when we started to hear rumors that the Nexus 7 could get the Android 4.4.3 update very soon, but since then things have been a little quiet, until last week. This is because the Android 4.4.3 release had been teased thanks to a video promoting the Motorola E. However, we now have more information, which points to the update coming this week.

Even though the Android 4.4.3 update is still unavailable, all that could change this week if we are to believe a report from Android Geeks, as their source believes that the Android 4.4.3 release date will be May 23rd and will be made available for the Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10.

We can’t say we are surprised to see Google Nexus devices getting the latest Android update first, but this will be a kick in the teeth for Samsung Galaxy S3 owners outside the US who are still unable to get KitKat 4.4.2.

However, all is not lost for those with a non-Nexus Android device, as it is more than likely that Google Play Edition devices will follow next with the Android 4.4.3 update, although we would hate to speculate as to how long after you will have to wait.

Much needed Android 4.4.3 features – Even though Google has been very quiet as to the release date and upcoming features of the next update, they have said we should expect around 30 bug fixes, such as randon reboots, LED issues, VPN fixes and much more.

It is clear there are still plenty of problems to be resolved following 4.4.2, so we would ask that you let us know what you hope to see fixed with the next update.

Even though a specific release date has hardly been mentioned, we have heard rumors of May 23rd once or twice before, and so there is a pretty good chance that this is the real deal. However, until then we hope that you take this with a grain of salt, even if the Android 4.4.3 release date is long over due.
