New BMW X1 to launch in 2016, on track now

Expectations for the launch of the so-called F48 BMW X1 are set for 2016, although the next generation car in this series has been seen in a track test at Nurburgring. You can see the short video below this article, which runs for just under a minute but will be welcomed by those following every bit of news surrounding the new BMW X1.

The video landed on YouTube a couple of days ago, although most auto blogs have only just picked up the story and are featuring the video just like Product Reviews. The testing trial took place on the very famous Nurburgring race track.


Your thoughts on the new F48 BMW X1, from what you have seen so far and of course after watching the video below this article?

There’s still a lot more to learn about the new BMW X1, although we do know it has a codename of “F48” and the vehicle will change to BMW’s new UKL front-wheel drive. The F48 BMW X1 will also take advantage of a FWD setup, which allows for a lot more interior space and you will notice similarities with the MINI Countryman in terms of key features.
